Pictures from Tacloban

A Facebook friend in Tacloban has been sending me pictures of the relief effort in that typhoon devastated city.

Huge piles of bags of rice, the staple of the Filipino diet, in a warehouse.

I don't know why, but it seems a bit surprising that India would be contributing aid. Guess that's because I think of India are struggling with its own issues of devastating poverty.

USAID makes its presence felt. Two U.S. Navy ships are moored in the harbor in Tacloban. I don't know what sort of aid they are providing.

Have no idea how people are cooking food and obtaining clean water.
