The Karaoke Queen and I packed up a couple of Balikbayan boxes with clothes and shoes today, then headed over to Secaucus. LBC Express is donating its services to send relief materials to the victims of Typhoon Haylan in Tacloban.
We piled our boxes up on a big pile of boxes in the warehouse. The Filipino community in Jersey is responding generously to those in need back home.
On the way out of the warehouse district we passed by a Hindu temple. The pic below is not of the temple, but a model of a big temple back home in India.
The Shree Swaminarayan Temple is a sect of Hindu built around its namesake guru. Many Hindus live in Jersey. Jersey is quite exotic!
Hope our little contribution helps the refugees in Tacloban! The Queen's family will also be sending a monetary contribution through a source that ensures that all the money gets to victims, and not to administrators.

Thanks for helping out there. We have some special friends over there; they're ok, but have relatives who are still "missing."

The Queen's family in Cebu is accounted for.
Family and friends in Tacloban, we haven't heard from.
Ricky, my gay hairdresser friend from Jersey City, recently built a house for his family in Tacloban. I fear the worst.
