Now, here’s a Woodstock business that I can endorse without reservation. Taco Juan’s has occupied this same colorful storefront for decades. Generations of Woodstock teenagers worked their first job behind the counter of this healthy fast food Mexican restaurant.
For years, the owner sponsored marathon races in Woodstock. 2003 is the last year for which I can find results.
Taco Juan’s food is very good and the prices are reasonable. On a sunny summer day, this is the busiest shop in town. Bikers and tourists stop in for Jane’s ice cream, and for the tacos and enchiladas. I especially like the bean burritos. Sometimes, I’ll order the chili and chips. For desert, try pulling an Oreo cookie from the jar on the ice cream counter.
