I start nursing school full-time today. It’s like I’m going back to elementary school. Yesterday, I visited the doctor for an update on my immunizations. Over the past two weeks, I’ve been stuck with a half dozen shots… so that I don’t get infected by my patients.
The nurses in the doctor’s office giggled and ribbed me about becoming a nurse. They were clearly charmed. If I weren’t an old fart, I’d say that this nurse gig could be a good way to get a lot of… well, you know.
Last night, I boiled seven eggs. I whipped up an egg salad this morning, slapped together a sandwich and… voila! I’m brown bagging it. Stuffed a granola bar and an apple in the bag with my sandwich. My income will take a beating this year, so I’ve got to economize.
Just to add some spice to my first day, God dropped an ice storm on the region over night.
It’s off to school I go!
UPDATE: All Dressed Up & Nowhere to Go!
School’s cancelled as a result of the ice and snow storm! Just heard the announcement on the local radio station. So, I’ve got the day off.
I pulled the egg salad sandwich out of the brown bag, and ate half of it. I’ll spend the day exercising, playing music and doing chores.
Glad I bought that generator. Looks like there’s a good chance I’ll lose power today.
