I can remember when I cared about politics, but I can’t remember why.
My candidate for President, Rudi Giuliani, has already dropped out. Out of the remaining candidates of both parties… well, I’m more against Hillary than I’m for anybody else. I’m against Hillary just because I’m a male chauvinist pig and I think that the President ought to be a man.
On the other hand, we’ll survive if Hillary is elected. What difference does it make?
I was in favor of Giuliani because I lived in New York City during the crazy years of the 70s crack epidemic, so I appreciate that he made the city live-able again.
I’ve lost track of why it’s supposed to be so important for my guy to win the election. Years ago, I thought that it mattered a lot. I’m probably more friendly toward the Republicans than the Democrats, but that’s only because the Democrats long ago labeled white hetero men their villains. I don’t think that the Republicans are likely to do much for me, either.
On the great issues of the day… I’ve got my opinions, but doesn’t every asshole? The war in the Middle East is going to continue, and the U.S. is going to continue to be involved, no matter who’s president. The Democrats can’t walk away from that either. They’re just blowing hot air. Immigration? Yea, we ought to do something about controlling our borders. What in the hell that would be is anybody’s guess. Health care? I’ve got mine.
I’m more interested in Illinois’ football recruiting class which is being announced today. Another top 20 class! Looks like we’ll be going to a bowl game as long as Ron Zook remains our coach.
I’m surrounded in Woodstock by people who are looking to politics for salvation. The old commie/hippie/Utopian crowd continues to fight the good fight long after I ceased giving a damn. They’re welcome to it.
After Myrna died, I lost interest in everything that didn’t directly affect me. Having a good time and enjoying life and people… that’s really all I’ve got time to do.
So, I remain interested only in Harleys, Cars, Girls & Guitars. If you want to have a political argument with me, well, there are days when I can get it up for that. My days on this earth are numbered. I’ll be rejoining Myrna before you know it. Why waste time on things that don’t matter?

Hey.
I think you have a really good blog.
I am sorry for your loss. Myrna looks like she was a really fine lady. I listened to your rendition of Amazing Grace, dedicated to her and could feel the love.
When my SO passed away in 2004, the only song that would comfort me was Amazing Grace. I keep a picture of him by my computer. I see him everyday.
I wish you peace and love, man. I know it's tough. But we all have to continue on, don't we? You are doing a good job. Just keep the faith. OK?

Thanks for dropping by, boomie.
Myrna was a gift from God.
My house is full of pictures of Myrna. I will see her again in the next life.
We do have to carry on. But, I think you know that the wound never really heals when we lose a mate we truly love.
Thanks for the good wishes. The same to you.

Hi my friend,
let me tell you how brave you are to say all these things.
people always tell themselves lies to try to rest in piece like actually believe that usa will leave middle east.
it wasnt the idea of bush to go there its a long made plan that will be carried on with any other president
but I join my voice to yours (anyone but Hillary) i hate her very much
she couldnt keep a husband how the hell will she keep a nation.
but i like obama more because he looks good in a suite.
actually it doesnt matter at all
at last may god be with you to calm you on your loss and may you always see Myrna in your best dreams.
loosing elections is like loosing your bike , loosing a loved one is loosing all your life.
farewell my friend
