I’m trying out a new technology today, Blog Talk Radio (BTR). I’ve been searching for a method of conducting and recording interviews online, and Blog Talk Radio looks to be the winner.

Here’s how it works. You create an account on BTR’s website, and you become host. Conducting a show is very easy, particularly if you have experience with any type of corporate conferencing software.
Hosts schedule a date, time and duration for a radio show. For instance, I’ve scheduled a 12 noon show today, with Mike Bitterman of Midnight Modulations recording studio as my guest. I’ll call in before the show and type in a Host ID number. Mike will simply call in on another number. I can queue him into the show whenever I want.
BTR records our conversation as an MP3 file. I can then link to that file in my weblog.
The Karaoke Queen and I experimented with a trial run last night and everything worked. In the future, I plan to use BTR for interviews with musicians and music industry friends and co-workers, for interviews with Harley and chopper dealerships, etc.
UPDATE: I’ve rescheduled my interview with Mike for 12 noon tomorrow.
UPDATE: November 8. I’ve had to reschedule my interview with Mike to an undetermined date. Stay tuned.
