We seldom get political on Harleys, Cars, Girls and Guitars.

I read this front page article this morning in my hometown paper, the Chicago Tribune. Mark Silva argues that President Bush should have appointed a woman to the Supreme Court.

In my e-mail correspondence with Mr. Silva, he told me that: “It could be that seven of them [white men] on the Supreme Court is quite sufficient.”

Surprisingly, Mr. Silva is a white man.  I’m calling on Mr. Silva today to give up his job as a reporter so that a deserving woman can have it.

Do the right thing, Mr. Silva.  Don’t lecture us with about your virtuous devotion to diversity. Prove it.  Quit your job today, so that a woman’s career can be furthered.

I expect to hear about your resignation today.
