After we sang last night, the Karaoke Queen and I sat down to watch a little TV, and we were assaulted with a bloody orgy of a movie, “From Dusk to Dawn.” I mention it in Harleys, Cars, Girls & Guitars only because it was nominally a biker movie.
The stars were George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino, with a cameo performance by Cheech Marin of Cheech and Chong fame.
Readers are asked to write in with comments about their favorite biker movies. “From Dusk to Dawn” didn’t really feature bikes and bikers as its main them, but the bar where the action took place was purportedly that great Biker Bar from Hell, a dive called the “Titty Twister.” Can’t beat that. I’ll provide you with a link to a good review and a bad review. Take your pic.
“Jesus, how can you watch this?” I asked the Karaoke Queen.
Didn’t seem to bother her a bit. I counted about 100 murders, dismemberments and exploding corpses within half an hour. Sort of violence porn. When the Karaoke Queen told me that she was a Madonna and Michael Jackson fan, I asked:
“What’s next, devil worship?”
You never know, do you?
Which brings me to the point. Readers, please tell me about your favorite biker movies. Comments are open. Don’t be shy. I’m hoping, one day, to make a biker movie. What are the essential elements of a good biker flick? I’m all ears.
